Jang Keun-suk performs in Sapporo for Japanese tour

Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk performed in Sapporo over the weekend, the second stop on his fan tour in Japan.

A press release from Tree J. Company on Wednesday announced that Jang took the stage in front of some 3,000 fans at the Nitori Bunka Hall located in Sapporo on November 21 for his second show titled “JANG KEUN SUK JAPAN TOUR in Sapporo.”

The show featured various events such as Jang speaking to his fans about his work as well as him performing the song “Please, My BUS!” from the soundtrack of his latest drama KBS’ “Marry me, Mary.”

The 23-year-old singer also gave an encore performance of another track from soundtrack for “Marry me, Mary” titled “My Precious.”

“Right now I’m busy working on shooting the series and preparing things for the fan tour so I get the energy from the fans that come out to see me,” Jang was quoted as saying, adding that he hopes to do his best for the rest of the tour.

Jang made his debut in entertainment at the early age of five as a catalog model. He rose to super stardom in Korea and throughout Asia after starring in the SBS hit series “Minaminshineyo” as the eccentric lead singer of the idol group A.N.JELL.

He recently made his comeback to the small screen in “Marry me, Mary” as the Indie rocker Mugyul and will continue his fan tour at Kobe this Friday.

Jang Geun-Seok’s Japanese fan meetings are always sold-out… Why?

Jang Geun-Seok is becoming new Hallyu star.

Jang Geun-Seok will promote his lastest fan meeting in Japan tour that he started in early 2010. On the 26th and 27th, he will held two big fan meetings that which will be about 5000 people at the Pacifico Yokohama hall, Yokohama, Japan. Tickets for both meetings are sold out but the one held on the 27th will be on 30 screens Japan-wide via satellite. Using satellite for fan meetings is a very limited case for Hallyu star; only Bae Yong-joon and few other big stars could do such an event.

Jang Geun-Seok drew more than 30,000 audiences for his charged fan meetings which were held in 9 cities in 5 Asian countries including Singapore, Beijing, Japan. His foreign tour started in March 2010. His two previous fan meetings, which were held in Fukuoka and Sapporo, were all sold-out way before the meetings.

The reason for his sold-out marathon is because he held unique fan meetings that are incomparable to others. Most Hallyu stars fan meetings are held in a format of talk show, but Jang Geun-seok sings and dances in his meetings. For example he sang 4-5 songs from his dramas, which he recorded himself.

Beginning on the 12th in Fukuoka, Jang Geun Seok is set to have his ‘Where is Your Star?” fan meeting five times by going to Sapporo on the 21st, Kobe on the 26th and Yokohama on the 27th.

Jang Geun-Seok holds first show of Japanese tour in Fukuoka

Hallyu star Jang Geun-seok kicked off his fan tour “2010 JANG KEUN SUK JAPAN TOUR” over the weekend, meeting with about 3,000 fans in Fukuoka.

A press release from his agency Tree J. Company announced that Jang flew into the country last Thursday for his fan event held at Fukuoka’s Sunplace Hotel Hall the following day.

He opened the event by taking the stage to perform song “Promise U” from the hit SBS TV series “You’re Beautiful” soundtrack and also sang “Please, My BUS!” from his latest drama KBS’ “Marry Me, Mary!”.

The 23-year-old also surprised his fans by appearing in the audience seats to give his encore performance.

“I honestly didn’t think this many people would show up for the event and I find myself truly thankful that I have such great fans who show their support for me”, Jang was quoted as saying, adding that he will work hard to give a better performance for his upcoming shows.

Jang began his career at the early age of five as a catalog model and is well-known for his roles in MBC’s sitcom “Nonstop 4” and drama “Beethoven Virus”.

He rose to super stardom in Korea and throughout Asia last year as the eccentric lead singer of the idol group A.N.JELL in the SBS TV series “You’re Beautiful” alongside actress Park Sin-hye.

He has returned to Korea to continue shooting “Marry Me, Mary!” as indie rocker Mugyul and will be in Hokkaido next week for the second stop of his fan tour.

Hallyu star Jang Keun-Suk will embark on his sold-out fan tour in Japan this month, according to his agency Tree J. Company on Wednesday.

A press release from Tree J. announced that Jang will visit four cities in Japan for a total five shows in the country, beginning with fan meeting in Fukuoka on Friday.

An official from Tree J. explained that they have received numerous inquiries after the announcement of Jang’s fan meeting in November and tickets were sold out as soon as they went on sale.

He also said they have added an additional date to the tour after the show in Yokohama for fans who were not able to purchase tickets for his other shows.

“I am really happy and excited about my upcoming tour since I will be able to update my fans as well as talk about my new drama ‘Marry Me, Mary,” Jang was quoted as saying.

He will meet and greet fans, talk about his new drama “Marry Me, Mary” and for the first time ever, sing a song from the show’s soundtrack.

Jang, 23, began his career in show business at the early age of five as a catalog model. He is well-known for his roles in MBC’s sitcom “Nonstop 4” and “Beethoven Virus.”
